Oasis- (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Oasis- (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
United States- Oasis achieved higher success in United States through the album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”. The album had received certification from RIAA with 4x platinum which makes them a topnotch band. Finally, they scored Billboard Hot 100 hits this time. Check which was their first top 10 hit:
Wonderwall- #8
Oasis just scored one top 10 single from the album with “Wonderwall”. Thus, it is safe to assume it was their most successful single from the LP. But they also charted at number 55 with “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. In Alternative charts, they scored four singles to chart and two songs went to number 1. Of course, the other one was “Wonderwall” followed by “Champagne Supernova”.

United Kingdom- Oasis gained more success with the album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”. It was awarded with 14x platinum due to huge sales. It released four official singles and all those singles went to top 10. Here are those songs:
Some Might Say- #1
Roll With It- #2
Wonderwall- #2
Don’t Look Back in Anger- #1
All of the singles from the album reached the top 2. They had two number 1 singles with “Some Might Say” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. Surprisingly, their signature hit “Wonderwall” only settled at number 2, the same chart position of “Roll With It”. Their biggest seller was “Wonderwall” whicb was awarded by BPI with 2x platinum, despite number 2 peak. “Don’t Look Back in Anger” achieved platinum status though.

Oasis’ biggest hit in the US off “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” was “Wonderwall”, their only top 10 hit there. In UK, “Wonderwall” was their biggest seller despite at a lower position than their two number 1 singles. The song was also the band’s most popular hit song, It was also my favorite song from the band that’s why I would be sharing that track:

Green Day- American Idiot: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Green Day- American Idiot
United States- Green Day came back with a bang through the album “American Idiot’, that aside from being a number 1 album, it sold million, thus became their second biggest selling album ever. Green Day had never reached the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 before until they released this album “American Idiot”. The band had released at least five official singles from the album and see how they made it to the top 10:
Boulevard of Broken Dreams- #2
Wake Me Up When September Ends- #6
Two of Green Day’s five released singles from “American Idiot” album went to top 10. Their song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” was their biggest hit when it peaked at number 2 and even gone 2x platinum by RIAA. “Wake Me Up When September Ends” which peaked at number 6 was platinum. They had a top 20 hit with “Holiday” at number 19, while the title track at number 61.

United Kingdom- Green Day achieved a new heights in United Kingdom with their album “American Idiot”. It even scored at least three top 10 hits. Look below which songs are those:
American Idiot- #3
Boulevard of Broken Dreams- #5
Wake Me Up When September Ends- #8
Green Day, for the first time, scored three top 10 singles from an album. Their highest peak is obviously “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” at number 3. But their other top 10 singles “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Wake Me Up September Ends” were more notable hits. “Holiday” and “Jesus of Suburbia” had peaked at number 11 and 17, respectively. Thus, they scored five top 20 hits.

Green Day scored more hits from this album “American Idiot”, which they never achieve before. Their biggest hit in the US has been “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” at number 2, while on UK, it was “American Idiot” at number 3. However, I had chosen “Wake Me Up When September Ends” because of its meaning and it was a very remarkable song from them.

Nickelback- The Long Road / Dark Horse: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Nickelback- The Long Road
United States- Nickelback released this album following “Silver Side Up”. The album “The Long Road” released three singles which charted, but see what only reached the top 10.
Someday- #7
Only one single made it to the top 10 with “Someday”. “Figured You Out” and “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good” charted but only at number 65 and 48, respectively.

United Kingdom- Nickelback continue to break into the UK charts. Two singles charted from the album “The Long Road” and check it below:
Someday- #6
“Someday” was the most successful single from the album too in UK. The single “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good” only peaked at number 39.

Since “Someday” was the most successful single in both US and UK, it is the only single that is worth sharing. I also love the song and the drama on the music video. However, I feel like it sounds like “How You Remind Me”, but it is still a good song.

Nickelback- Dark Horse
United States- Nickelback’s album “Dark Horse” did well too. Six singles reached the Hot 100 but what single made it to the top 10? Look below:
Gotta Be Somebody- #10
Despite the total of six charted singles, Nickelback only scored one top 10 single. The second biggest single from the album has been “If Today Was Your Last Day” reaching number 19.

United Kingdom- Nickelback failed to score a top 10 hit from “Dark Horse”. But they hit the top 20 with “Gotta Be Somebody”. The song “If Today Was Your Last Day” reached number 64, followed by “I’d Come for You” reaching 67.

“Gotta Be Somebody” reached number 10 in US,  and number 20 in UK. In Asia, it is the solely popular single especially here in the Philippines. No other singles peaked as high as those in both countries, so I would be sharing that song. It is a great song and you will surely like it.

Albums Singles Review: “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “The Time of Our Lives (EP)” by Miley Cyrus

Hannah Montana: The Movie (soundtrack album)
Miley Cyrus returned in this soundtrack but this time in a movie and the soundtrack of “Hannah Montana: The Movie”. The album featured her songs as Miley Cyrus and as Hannah Montana. It contains pop and country tracks. The soundtrack went to number 1 in United States.

The Climb
“The Climb” was released to lead the soundtrack of “Hannah Montana: The Movie”. The song has an inspirational and empowering theme in a country pop ballad. It went to number 4 on Billboard Hot 100.
Rate: 8.75 out of 10

Hoedown Throwdown
“Hoedown Throwdown” was the second and last single of the soundtrack album of “Hannah Montana: The Movie”. The song is a country pop and merged with hip-hop which doesn’t sound that well. The song went to number 18 in both US and UK.
Rate: 6.5 out of 10

The Time of Our Lives (EP)
Miley Cyrus had released an EP after “Hannah Montana: The Movie” soundtrack. The extended play contains pop while some with country tunes. The EP was a success reaching number 2 in the United States.

Party in the U.S.A.
“Party in the U.S.A.” has been released to lead the extended play “The Time of Our Lives”. It was a bouncy and catchy pop track that will make you sing with it especially at the part “yeaahhh, yeahhh!”. The song was a success for her especially in United States where it reached number 2.
Rate: 8.5 out of 10

When I Look at You
“When I Look at You” was released as the second and final released of the extended play “The Time of Our Lives”. The song is a pop ballad and was also featured for her film “The Last Song”. I love the ballad as it showcased Miley Cyrus’ voice. The song had peaked at number 16 on Billboard Hot 100.

Creed- Weathered: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Creed- Weathered
United States- Creed achieved mainstream success with their album “Human Clay”. They attained that success with their follow-up album “Weathered”. However, the sales of “Human Clay” is higher as it went Diamond platinum in the country after certification from RIAA. Aside from the multiple platinum success of the album, it had success with its singles too. They actually released at least six singles off the record and the list below were those which went to top 10.
My Sacrifice- #4
One Last Breath- #6
Just like “Human Clay”, the album “Weathered” scored two top 10 singles. It started with the first one “My Sacrifice” for reaching number 4, their second biggest hit after the number1 hit from “Human Clay”, “With Arms Wide Open”. It was followed by the number 6 hit single “One Last Breath”. The other four singles failed to make a milestone for not reaching the top 100. Nevertheless, it was still a hit album with hit singles.

United Kingdom- If Creed only scored two singles to chart in UK from their album “Human Clay”, this time, they charted with three singles. However, no releases achieved a top 10 position. The album’s lead single which was “My Sacrifice” was the highest peak for peaking at number 18. It was next to the number 13 hit “With Arms Wide Open”. The second single “Bullets” peaked at number 47, which was also the peak position of the song “One Last Breath”. The other three singles failed to chart as well.

In United States, “My Sacrifice” was the band’s most popular single for reaching number 4. It was the same in United Kingdom for reaching number 18. In the Philippines, it is very popular too alongside “One Last Breath” single. I would be sharing the song as it has a rocking but good melody, though similar, to what they do from their previous record.

Take That- Beautiful World / The Circus: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Take That- Beautiful World

United States- Take That made a comeback but the album was not released in the country, so no singles ever made it to chart.

United Kingdom- After more than a decade, Take That made a comeback through “Beautiful World”, which even became their biggest selling album in the country ever for achieving multiple platinum status. It released four singles from the album. The top 10 singles from the album were:
Patience- #1
Shine- #1
Rule the World- #2
Three singles went to top 10 from “Beautiful World”. Since there were four singles released from it, they had one single which failed to reach the top 10. “I’d Wait for Life” only peaked at number 17. While “Patience” and “Shine”, were big chart-toppers.

The biggest selling single from the album was “Patience” after going platinum in United Kingdom by BPI. Enjoy the song that I will share below:

Take That- The Circus
United States- The group wasn’t able to release the album in United States again, thus, the incapability to earn another top 10 single for the group.

United Kingdom- Take That released the album “The Circus” to follow their previous comeback album. It was again a big seller, and they released at least four singles and all charted and was their second biggest seller ever. However, not all of the singles from the album reached the top 10. Check which songs made it to that upper 10 position:
Greatest Day- #1
Said It All- #9
Only two single from the four released made it to the top 10. The two single which failed to reach the top 10 were “Up All Night” at number 14, and “The Garden” at number 97. “Greatest Day” was their biggest hit for reaching number 1.

Since “Greatest Day” was their highest peak and their only number 1 single, I will share the song below and hope you will do enjoy it especially Take That fans:

Matchbox 20- Mad Season / More Than You Think You Are: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Matchbox 20- Mad Season
United States- Matchbox 20 still achieved success over their second album “Mad Season”. It gave them a 4x platinum award from RIAA. It even scored a number of hits. Four official singles were released and check which were top 10 hits:
Bent- #1
If You’re Gone- #5
Matchbox 20 scored two singles to reach the top 10 from “Mad Season” album. They first did it with their first and only number 1 hit “Bent”, followed by number 5 hit “If You’re Gone”. “Mad Season only peaked at number 48, while “Last Beautiful Girl” failed to chart.

United Kingdom- Three singles were released by Matchbox 20 from the album in United Kingdom. No singles made it to the top 10 though. The one which first charted was “If You’re Gone” at number 50, then “Mad Season” at number 76 and “Last Beautiful Girl” at number 96.

I am sharing “Bent” because it has been their biggest hit in America since it reached number 1. It was also a chart-topper here in Asia.  Enjoy that song being shared below:

Matchbox 20- More Than You Think You Are
United States- Matchbox 20 achieved minimal success for their third album “More Than You Think You Are”. The album has gone platinum by RIAA. They still released singles and see which one reached the top 10:
Unwell- #5
The band at least scored one single to grace the top 10 which was “Unwell” at number 5. They also charted with two single but at lower position with “Disease” at number #29 and “Bright Lights” at number 23.

United Kingdom- The band again had limited success in United Kingdom. Nothing reached the top 10 but at least charted with “Disease” at number 50, and number 83 with “Unwell”.

“Unwell” is the biggest single by the group. In Asia, it has even their signature hit. It was also a great song and very popular in radio. That’s why I am sharing the song for all of you below:

Nickelback- Silver Side Up: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Nickelback- Silver Side Up
United States- Nickelback finally achieved their breakthrough in mainstream rock through “Silver Side Up”. The album went multi-platinum and released three singles off the record, Exactly, the album has gone 5x platinum as awarded by RIAA, which made it one of the top rock albums that year it was released. They also released singles in support for the album, but let’s see well they performed in music charts:
How You Remind Me- #1
Despite the success of the album and going to number 1 with “How You Remind Me”, the other two singles failed to chart higher. “Too Bad”, the second single reached number 42. The other single failed to reach the Hot 100.

United Kingdom- Nickelback has been successful with their album “Silver Side Up” in United Kingdom. It was a number 1 album in the country and achieved certifications from BPI. Just like in United States, Nickelback also released three singles in the country and all those songs charted. But how does the song fared? Check if they all went to top 10:
How You Remind Me- #4
Too Bad- #9
So, two of three singles wenr to the top 10. “How You Remind Me” has been a big hit which brought Nickelback to a new height when it went platinum. It also has been a big help to the album’s success. The second single “Too Bad” reached number 9, which its chart position can also be attributed for the previous single.

Nickelback’s biggest single from the album was apparently “How You Remind Me” being the highest position than succeeding singles in UK, and the solely number 1 in the US from the album. “Too Bad” is still a hit but not as good as “How You Remind Me”. “How You Remind Me” was also very popular in the Philippines that time. Dare to enjoy the rock song below:

Michael Jackson- Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix / Invincible: Top 10 Singles in US and UK

Michael Jackson- Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix
United States- After several hit albums, Michael Jackson released this remix album “Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix”, which features the remixes of his songs from “HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I” album. The album was platinum by RIAA and released singles, but nothing went to top 10. “Blood on the Dance Floor” only peaked at number 42.

United Kingdom- Michael Jackson did well with the remix album “Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix” in United Kingdom too when it had gone platinum by BPI. It released singles with these two went to top 10:
Blood on the Dance Floor- #1
HIStory/Ghosts- #5
Michael Jackson scored two singles from the remix album to reach the top 10. He scored another number 1 hit with “Blood on the Dance Floor”. The double-sided single “History” and “Ghost” went to number 5.

Michael Jackson- Invincible
United States- After many years, Michael Jackson came back with the album “Invincible” which had gone 2x platinum. It released two singles but see what had gone to the top 10:
You Rock My World- #10
It thus show that Michael Jackson only scored one top 10 hit with “You Rock My World” at 10. He charted with “Butterflies” which peaked at number 14.

United Kingdom- Michael Jackson achieved platinum record with “Invincible” as awarded by BPI. It also released two singles in United Kingdom and let’s see of both songs went to top 10:
You Rock My World- #2
Michael Jackson only earned one top 10 hit in United Kingdom from the album “Invincible”. That only song was “You Rock My World”, which took its peak of number 2. His other single “Cry” only went to number 25.

What I am sharing this time was “You Rock My World” from Michael Jackson’s studio album “Invincible”. It sounds better than the song “Blood on the Dance Floor” for me. It could’ve been a great comeback but didn’t push to another level. Here’s the song below:
