I posted yesterday about how my day was going pretty slow. However, I did manage to get quite a bit done.
I finished two loads of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, picked up and vacuumed the living room, and managed to get a little writing done. I wish I had done more writing, but I can’t really go back in time to change that.
Around 4:30, my husband called to say he was on his way home. I figured he’d be home early since he went in at 4 am. I found out that his team didn’t even show up for another half hour, so he was there for nothing. He was calling to say that he was on his way home and hungry. So I started making dinner earlier than usual.
I made steak tacos with Spanish rice for dinner, and I finished it all in about 45 minutes. That’s pretty quick considering that I was trying to fold the laundry in between cooking. Dinner turned out really good, and my husband was happy. My daughter, who didn’t nap all day, ended up falling asleep, so I took advantage of my husband being home to head to the grocery store. We needed a few things, and I knew I wouldn’t have the car today.
I mostly got drinks. We needed milk, and I got some more tea. We seem to be running through that more and more quickly these days. I also got a chocolate cupcake to share with my husband from the bakery.
When I got home, my little one had woken up. I fed her some dinner, and then I gave her a bath.
From there, we watched a little TV. We started watching that new show, Scorpion, about the geniuses who work for the government. It’s actually really good, and I like the characters. They have such a different personality from most, which is interesting.
I think I fell asleep pretty early because I was so tired. But it was a good day, and I went to bed happy.
