This past weekend, I was having a rough time, and I decided that Sunday was going to be a good day, no matter what.
That morning, I got up, got my little one ready, and we headed to the mall. They have an amazing playground in there, and all the stuff is super clean and padded so the little ones don’t get hurt. Plus, the parents that show up tend to be really responsible, and they keep a good eye on their kids.
My daughter spent a good hour playing, climbing, and having lots of fun. She made a couple friends, too, which was nice. It’s always good to see her playing with other kids. I always feel bad that she doesn’t have any cousins or siblings to play with regularly.
She even learned a new word while we were there: stairs. She kept climbing the little staircase up to the slide, and I kept saying the word. Finally, she pointed down to them and said it! I always love to hear her say new words. It’s so exciting!
Then, when we were finished with the playground, we headed upstairs to the little train station. This train is pretty cool. It doesn’t have any tracks, and it goes all around the mall. My little one loved it so much, and she waved to random people like she was riding in a parade or something. I got a good laugh out of that.
Then, she started her yawning thing, and we headed home. She fell asleep on the ride, and I let her sleep on the couch while I skyped with my family back home. We are getting ready for my sister’s wedding, and I’m trying to help plan the bridal shower as best as I can from my distance.
When my daughter woke up, we had a nice lunch together, and then I put work away and just played. I love spending quality time with her, and she is super fun to hang out with.
My husband had worked the night before, so he was asleep during this time. I was bummed, but I had a really good day. When he woke up, I made a really good dinner: asian stir fry with rice noodles. It came out super amazing, and I wish I had made more!
Overall, it was one of the best day’s I’d had in a long time. I’m looking forward to another weekend of good days. I’ll have to cross my fingers that they go as smoothly as the last time.
