Many freelance writers know about the revenue-share sites. Basically, you write posts that meet the requirements for the site, and you get a certain amount of money according to the number of views your posts get. The money comes from the advertising that gets placed all over the site, including the writers’ posts.
Bubblews is one of these sites. You write posts that are 400 characters long, and you get paid 1 cent per view, 1 per like, and 1 per comment. You can also get 1 point for every share that your post gets, but those are pretty rare on that site.
I wrote for Bubblews for over a year. I abided by the rules, and I earned my money one penny at a time. But I didn’t enjoy the interaction part. There were some writers that I genuinely liked to read and comment with, but so many of the writers there put out posts that literally make no sense. Or they are very obviously copied and pasted from somewhere else. I didn’t feel like I wanted to give these people any money, so I avoided interacting with a vast majority of the writers over there.
Then, the payment issues started happening. The wait time went from 72 hours, to 2 weeks, to 22 days, and now finally 30 days to receive your hard earned money. Why does it take so long? They have also started charging a fee through Paypal. In my last check, I only lost about 2 dollars, but I’ve seen others lose as much as $10! That’s a huge chunk and a lot of work.
So I’ve decided to leave.
I don’t enjoy the new interface, it’s a lot of work for not a lot of money, and you are never even guaranteed your payment, or even to receive a reply from the admin. It’s all really frustrating, and I no longer want that stress in my life. I would much rather put my time in at a site that is easier to use, more friendly, and guaranteed to pay in a timely manner.
Okay. End of rant. Goodbye Bubblews! You won’t be missed!
