I have been trying to lose weight. When I started, I set my goal way too high. Needless to say, I never achieved it. Now, I have learned to set my goals small and when I reach one, I then set another one. It is working a lot better. I have met two goals now and am working on my third. I have lost 20 pounds so far by setting the goal at 10 pounds each time. I still have a long way to go but I am getting there a little at a time.
