That’s awesome! Nothing more rewarding than volunteering. I would love to do that, help rebuild. I bet you get a real sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. I volunteer at a food bank on Saturdays and it’s a good feeling seeing grateful faces with an armful of food.

  • I’ve been MIA this week. Busy helping a friend. I had planned on writing a few reviews, a GoT recap of the awesome episode 8 and starting another blog full of my inane babbling, but duty called and I had to utilize some old drywall skills in the creation of my buddies new “Man-cave”. Luckily, my writing work-load is pretty minute this week so I…[Read more]

    • Thanks for the update man. Looking forward to your inane babbling…sounds pretty fun. Have a good one!

Well, I didn’t do it for free, lol. He had to buy me a 12 pack everyday! Good deal either way though. I enjoy that kind of work sometimes, done it most my life. Glad to be back and the community is growing steady. That’s awesome!

    • Sounds like a good deal to me. Yeah and I know what you mean. It does feel good to get out there and do some hard labor every now and then.

@jsnitz08 Oh, I thought I was going to have a relaxing week with little work. Catch up on some reading and stuff. My buddy wanted to drywall his garage so I’ve been helping him instead. Lol, how’s yours going?

    • It sounds like you’re a pretty good friend to have. Nice seeing you back again. Have a great week!

    • It’s good to keep busy with the “real world” and get your hands dirty. Putting up drywall isn’t easy stuff…I sorta helped with that on my New Orleans trip a few years ago…mostly I did the insulation..and the men hung the dry wall..but didn’t hurt to have someone to hold it…;) haha.

      • Your right it ain’t easy. That’s pretty cool though if you donated your time to help people rebuild after the hurricane. My fiancé went on one of though trips and really got a lot out of it.

        • Yeah, it was a great experience. I did the Alternative Spring Break Trip with National Relief Network, went with a group from my school (CSU Northridge), it was super fun…one of the families made a crawfish boil for us..not to mention the fun times on Bourbon Street 😉 Love NOLA…that’s the “true” South!

          • When did you boyfriend go @Sheridan? I went Spring 2008

          • Whoops I guess it would by my fiancee (girlfriend). I know can be easy to get mixed up since Sheridan can be a boy or girl name but I’m a definitely a straight man. I guess you don’t have much to do with what your parents name you…oh well.

She went with a church group, I’m not sure which year though. This was before we started dating. Yeah New…[Read more]

Cool man, Yea, when this thing blows up and you get swamped, holler at your boy, lol.

  • @Sheridan I just wanted to say that if you need any help around the site, I’m available. I have a small work-load this coming week, so let me know if there’s anything I can help with.

    • Thanks man that’s pretty awesome of you to offer. Your posts and comments have been a great help already in creating a positive community. If I get to the point where I could use some help with something I’ll definitely hit you up. Have a good one.

  • That’s well-said. There’s a difference between intentions and talent. I’m sure his intentions are in the right place, but does he have the talent to carry them out? I’ve never been impressed with his acting abilities. I guess I just hope the movie doesn’t suffer because of it.

Absolutely. I didn’t look at it like that but you’re completely right.

I know it’s pretty simple, but my daughter and I have started walking in the evenings. Just a bit right now and we’re probably going to move up to jogging eventually. Now that I work from home, I got to stay active and any chance to get the kid up and out is a good thing.

    • It’s nice to be able to get away from the computer for a while and enjoy some fresh air. I usually take my dog for a walk a couple times a day. The freedom that comes with working from home is great but you’re right that you have to make yourself stay active or else you’ll find yourself out of shape in no time.

      • Lol, yea no doubt. I’m learning that the hard way.

      • Small steps are the easiest to maintain. Way to go! I think working a 9-5 job can also lead a person to not workout and become lazy…Think about…sitting in traffic for 30-60 minutes going to work…sitting at your desk for 8 hours…with a break for lunch…and then traffic again…
Important for Worker-bees to stay active as well! Working…[Read more]

    • Even if you work the typical 9-5 or 8-5 job or shift work, being active at home as well can go a long way. Which is something that I have slipped n and desperately need to get back into. Even though at the job I just left I was running around all day long and was certainly getting some exercise, it wasn’t focused exercise and often some of it…[Read more]

      • That’s exactly right @Nyssa. I used to work at the happiest place on earth..and boy was that a lot of Walking. However, even though at first you might drop a few pounds from all the walking etc… after awhile you won’t lose pounds anymore if you don’t increase your Exercise to something more focused. In fact you can even gain if you’re not adding…[Read more]

    • Hey MikeDee,

What do you do at home to earn a living? I use various sites to earn some online income. I currently work outside as well by doing promotions. It’s part time though. My goal is to outearn the promo gig income so I can slow that down.
