The thing about baseball is that standings can change so damn quickly. Last week the Jays were right on the coat-tails of the orioles and looked to be playing well enough to take over the AL East again. Fast forward to today and the Jays have lost 2 in a row, last night against the Tigers and previously against the Orioles (gotta play strong in your division!), are 6-4 over their last ten, and are sitting outside of a wildcard spot.

So why can’t the Jays pick up those important wins? Have they just lost their mojo, or is having the power of Encarnacion out of the line-up for so long really affecting them this much? Whatever the reason, they need to right the ship quickly or face yet another fall watching the playoffs at home sitting in their boxers and drinking beer like the rest of us. A series against the Tigers is not going to help their cause unfortunately.
