Homemade Ranch Salad Dressing Mix

Ranch Dressing Mix

Ranch is one of my favorite salad dressings. It is so versatile, I never run out of things to put it in. It’s great in macaroni salad, on sliced raw vegetables, in mashed potatoes, on baked potatoes, the list goes on and on. This is the recipe for the dry mix that you can keep on hand to make ranch dressing or ranch dip whenever you want some.

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup dried parsley flakes
  • 1/3 cup dried minced onion
  • 1/4 cup dried chives
  • 2 tablespoons garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons onion salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Mix together and store in an air tight container. This mix lasts at least 4 or 5 months.

This is a great mix to give as a jar gift for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Just put it in a mason jar and tag with the following directions:

For Dressing:

  • Mix 2 to 3 tablespoons dry mix with
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup buttermilk or 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

For Dip:

  • Mix 2 to 3 tablespoons dry mix with
  • 2 cups sour cream or greek yogurt

Make both a few hours before serving, so the flavors have time to blend.

To make your jar gifts more festive for gifts here are the items I use:

A cute, small wide mouth jar, a brown folded tag for instructions and a cute plaid ribbon.  All together they make an adorable gift jar for your dressing mix.
