Green Warriors 5 years agoUse earthen pots for storing drinking water in summer rather than keeping water in refrigerator. The water in earthen pot is cool and good to drink, although not as cold as in the fridge. it’s healthy too..

Green Warriors 5 years, 1 month agoI read in a report in Hindustan Times on 6 January 2016 that Government plans to increase the subsidy for Electric and Hybrid vehicles- for consumers and for manufacturers including for R&D from Rs 75 crore(a not so good figure) to 500 crore Rupees annually.

a)Purchase and use more LEDs- as per a latest report, the cost difference between CFLs and LEDs of equal wattage is now no more than 60 to 70 Rupees, so no need to stick to CFLs.
b)Continue with optimum vehicle usage and keep walking rather than using vehicle- its a big positive carbon footprint from my side.

I also want to add some points.
1. LED are good sources. But, there are adulterants too. By mistake, one of my friend bought wrong LED. There he came to know that there are good LEDs too in the market with these characteristics.

1 – When I am not alone. In that case, the other person opens the fan.

It’s hard to be without fans in peak summer in India, especially in today’s congested homes where air flow is not adequate.. of course, if you reduce electricity consumption, it will have a positive effect on environment 🙂
