Wallpaper samples can be used for crafts too. Sometimes, you can find them cheap or free (or use your own wallpaper scraps). They are great for decorating jars, vases, picture frames, and more.

Welcome new members!
Another creative way to make party decorations is to buy printed napkins or themed ones. You can then decoupage them to other items to continue the theme or print throughout. It saves money too, because you can buy fewer ready made decorations.

I am into sewing, crocheting and recently coloring. Yes, I love coloring, adult coloring books are great. As for sewing I am more into sewing doll cloths, as you can see from the pictures of some dolls I own. Yes, I am an adult who owns dolls I guess that is another hobby of mine. kr

The dresses are really pretty! I wish I can sew some clothes or doll clothes for my children as well. Now I usually knit and crochet the doll clothes.
It’s a good hobby to play with dolls and make clothes for them as well! 🙂-
I used to sew and crochet doll clothes for my kids when they were little. Doll blankets too. It was fun for me and for them.

wow! they are pretty! my mother is also good in sewing, but I never learned how to use the sewing machine.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. My mother is actually the one who taught me to sew. I guess I took after her and my grandmother in that talent. As for the fabrics that I use I tend to find clothes in thrift stores and yard sales, usually formal gowns that I can get for a great price than I take them home clean them cut them up to make…[Read more]

Party decorations are fun to make and you can save money making your own. One cute idea is to decorate jars to use as vases or containers for other items like treats. A very simple method is to just glue a wide strip of pretty paper around the mid section of the jar. You can add bows or ribbons if you like.
You can use any clean jar, like ones…[Read more]

This is really pretty. The fairy tales series sound interesting. I haven’t try any adult coloring yet, though it seems to be really popular now.

I just crocheted this simple cat coaster for my little girl this morning. You can get the pattern for free here:

It’s amazing! I would want to craft one soon!
-

Such a cute cat!! ♡
-
wow you are so good at this, talented !!
-
That’s really cute.
-
Nice! I bet she loved it. Thanks for sharing this.
I love to crochet.
-
Thanks. There’s a yellow stray cat that always comes to my house and play with my children, that’s why I made it yellow. I also made another cat coaster for my son, and now they are already using them. 🙂

It’s so nice that your sister can sell the things she makes, I always think if I will be able to do that one day. I just started to learn how to crochet in these recent years, as I’d like to make some toys for my children. It improves my patience as well. 🙂

Have you tried any adult coloring books? I keep thinking about getting one. You can also print off coloring pages. Many people find it relaxing.
I usually just color in the kids coloring books with my grandkids, but I may just have to pick up one that contains some more elaborate designs. I think they would be fun to color.

Kids drawings and paintings can make great artwork for decorating their rooms. Have them create something then decorate a frame to go with it. Very cute.
-
Me too. I always liked making stuff with the kids when they were little. Using stuff around the house is the best. It’s convenient, it saves money, and it teaches the kids how to re-use things instead of instantly throwing everything away. Plus, it’s fun and a great way to inspire them to be imaginative.
-
I guess you can let imagination flow when it come to bringing children’s rooms to life, that’s a creative way you’ve mentioned.
-
All the walls in my house have become my children’s painting board. 😀
Though they look messy, I enjoy looking at their artwork on the walls all the time, and they always have fun drawing on the walls.
