Hi, all! I’m a newbie here and wondering if there are any restrictions on topics for blogs. I’ve got ideas for a few different ones.

Hi and welcome. So long as the content isn’t offensive, please feel free to create as many blogs about whatever topics you choose.

So far so good, this is a cookie cutter bunch of writers…no offense.

Yeah, well, I generally don’t expect to find works of literary genius when reading blogs. Your mileage may vary. 🙂

I create links to my blogs and amazon affiliate links using my Blogjob blogs and so far never encountered an issue. Also, Blogjob allows you to integrate your Ads to their Blogjob blogs so I think they are pretty lenient with that.

The restriction for writing blog is almost same everywhere, no duplicate content (non-plagiarized material), no offensive or abusive content and no pornographic.

In short, you need quality and focus. However, there might be certain forbidden topics.

My advise, blog with passion, blog that express your thoughts and honest opinions. If you are writing a topic that contains research, read the research and don’t ever copy and paste it here, write it on your own. Do not post anything about porn and nudity also.

@GrecyGarcia, those are very good pointers. Thank you very much 🙂 I think some people don’t actually realise that copying and pasting can lead to trouble.

While most writers choose to write about their day and keep their blogs G-rated, I write reviews of horror media and discuss the news of the day (sometimes about controversial topics). My advice: If you’re unsure about a topic, check with the moderator.

I write about my life, I make a site about work, cleaning which is minimalism and cooking. Sometimes I just want to write about chatting so I have a site for that too 🙂 I keep it clean mouthed and G- rated.

Sometimes the run of the mill type topics and every day life are the safest to write about. At least there are no real grey areas with those. I guess all in all, common sense should prevail. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t write about it 🙂

I read a post that had links to an Etsy shop and other advertising. That must not be allowed, I would think. ??

I am also a newbie. My suggestion is to read the guidelines of the site. For me, I am still exploring the platform icons here.

If you wanna write or put up something controversial or anything that you feel might offend someone, I personally suggest opening up a sub-blog on Tumblr. Blogjob is more suited for general topics. That’s very much how I keep my contents managed.
