cmoneyspinnerParticipantFor some reason the SHOPPING CART widget is appearing on blogs. I know I didn’t put it on my blog so I went into my dashboard and deleted it.
This widget is for:
“Shows dynamic shopping cart contents along with a checkout button for your MarketPress store.”SO if you don’t have a MarketPress store, then you probably don’t want that widget on your blog.
HOW TO DELETE?
Go into your blog dashboard.
Click on Appearance. Then click on Widgets.
Find that widget wherever it is appearing. (It showed up on my sidebar.)
– Click the drop-down arrow to open it up.
– See the link that says “Delete”? Hit it!
It will go away. 🙂

ElisaParticipantThank you very much for the information. Yes, it’s kinda weird to have a shopping cart without products to sell. Thanks. It’s very useful.

peachpurpleParticipant@susmithaanoop/ why do you use it? is it related to amazon or any online shoppping?

cmoneyspinnerParticipantIt’s for those who have a MarketPress Store. Don’t ask me what that type of store is. Just figured out that I don’t have any kind of “store” here at BlogJob and the widget is just taking up space on the blog and serves no useful purpose.

PamelaParticipantI actually have noticed it on mine, but for my affiliate blog I actually use it. I don’t have a Market Press store, but you can actually link it to other places rather than a Market Place. I have it linked to my ACTUAL store, so that when people click on the product, it takes them to the actual product, rather than another page on my blog, or whatever. So it’s actually handy. Even the “useless” widgets can be used in handy “out of the box ways.” Hope I helped. I know a bunch of people don’t use it, but don’t discount it either.

fun1oriented2learningParticipantBut, if you have an electronic business kind of system, you definitely need this widget.

cmoneyspinnerParticipantIf a visitor visits your blog and see the shopping cart, don’t you think it might make them wonder if they can shop and purchase things at your blog. That’s the purpose of the widget. SO why would you keep a widget on your blog that would confuse your visitor?
