Autumn 2016 Fashions Via InStyle Ideas

Wednesday, November 09, 2016

The October 2016 issue of InStyle magazine looks very thick, almost as thick as the traditional September Issue of most fashion magazines. Michelle Obama is on the cover, and the first items I notice are coats—leopard print coats and varsity-style jacket, as well as boots and large purses, worn with short dresses. Long coats and jackets are also popular. Pea coats and trench-style coats are two more options.

Slingback high-heel shoes with cage straps and in brown tones.

Makeup colors include metallic colors of turquoise, browns, grays, and rusty shades.

Cross-body purse with monogram is about simplicity and sophistication.

Knit short dress with turtleneck is worn with socks, booties, and beret as well as scarf and nautical stripes.

Fake fur and fake feather clothes and accessories is the way to go for autumn and winter seasons.

Quilted clothes, puffy coats, and culottes are also popular for autumn.

For the Gamin woman, consider a man’s jacket or blazer with brown-toned hounds tooth print, worn with denim pants, shirt, scarf, and fedora. The perfect shoes are oxfords and loafers. Mary-Janes are also popular, especially when worn with dress or skirt.

I notice long, floral print dresses, which remind me of the prairie days in that old TV series, Little House in the Prairie.

Denim clothes have colorful patches and maybe embroideries for décor and design.

Dress with tiered ruffles and ruffled tuxedo shirt look very feminine.

Pantsuits involve striped blazer or double-breasted blazer, worn with white shirt, pants, high-heel sandals, short handle purse, and sunglasses.

Shift dress

Monochromatic pantsuits and skirt suits

Short dresses with scarf, stack-heel loafers, and knee-high boots.

Short tweed skirt and black tights are booties are worn with a shirt and long coat.

Sweater dress and wrap coat looks comfy and casual because it reminds me of robe and nightgown, but for outside-wear. Add boots or high heel shoes, scarf, and knit hat.

What does an Editor wear? Consider neutral bodysuit, wrap skirt, loafers, purse with long strap, coat, and teardrop silver earrings. She carries a tote bag, which has her wallet, pouch, pens, and organizer.

October color is tan, which is also worn throughout the autumn months. Tan is a neutral color that is practical, whether worn in a monochromatic outfit or worn with black and a splash of color as an accent. Such must-have items include vertical striped shirt, small purse with short handle, skirt with slit, sailor pants, lacy dress, brass earrings, animal print high-heel shoes, sunglasses, crewneck sweater, and square-face watch.

There is also faux-pearl earrings with a glass stone, which sound cool. Sweaters, shirtdresses, coats, cropped pants, long floral skirt, stack-heel shoes with straps, faux python purse, animal print purse, stainless steel watch, and heather orange turtleneck all have some kind of print design.

Popular menswear clothes for women include checkerboard, glen plaid, houndstooth, tartan, tattersall, and windowpane. I personally like all these men-style prints, even though I didn’t know what some of these were actually called. I probably already have something in all these prints.

Black trail blazer boots are popular for this fall. They look like combat boots, and they have a urban and edgy appearance, mostly worn with long floral skirts and moto jackets or moto vests.

Ankle boots are sleek and modern, worn with minimalist outfits, cropped pants, dresses and skirts as well as leggings, skinny jeans, and hot pants.

Over-the-knee boots are always fun, mostly with skirts, dresses, hot pants, leggings, and skinny jeans.

Velvet ankle boots and booties look dressy, and probably can dress up pantsuits, short suits, and hot pants, but it can also be worn with dresses and skirts.

Actual combat boots are even more edgy than black trail blazer boots because they look more grunge and punk.

What do you buy for a dog who has everything? Dog fashions include rope dog toy, dog-friendly restaurants, Pet Boutiques, stylish dog collars, all-natural dog treats, stylish doggie sweaters, and is a social network for pets.

    • my late dogs had sweaters for cool days in autumn and winter when i walked them. i also bought them some treats, and they had a lot of toys, blankets, and bedding area. but most of the time, i used old stuff that i didnt want, and i bought an old playpen from garage sale for their bed. i used to fill it with blankets and pillows and their toys to make it cozy.

my current cat mostly has his blanket, cat beds, and i bought him a 6ft cat tree, which is really the only toy he really plays with. i also buy him cat treats and food. he refuses to wear clothes. so, i dont need to buy him any sweaters. i sometimes buy him scratch board when his wears out.

  1. You sound like you really enjoy your pets. 🙂 That’s sweet! It’s always fun to listen to people talk about their relationships with their pets. My husband’s parents had 3 dogs and a cat and they weren’t just family, they were royalty! 🙂 Lots of people in my family are dog and cat lovers too! 🙂

    • i now have one cat left. i used to have 3 shihtzu and one siamese cat, but all 4 of them are in heaven now. in dec 2008, i adopted a homeless cat in my neighborhood because his human died of cancer. now, the cat is 16, and i trained it to be an indoor cat. he doesnt care. all he wants is food, comfort, attention, and playing around.
