Always watch out for pedestrians trying to quickly cross the road. They may not warn you, but if there is an accident, its usually the pedestrian who get injured more and the car driver who will get blamed – be prepared and cautious
This jaywalker almost stumbled on to my car on the Chennai – Vellore- Benguluru highway. Thankfully he was not drunk and noticed my car early enough to get out of the way, even as I braked and moved my car a little.
Heavy vehicles hogging the right lane slowly, overtaking on the left, barely any footpath and a drunk pedestrian. I simply waited for him to run out of steam and carried on. He had plenty of space on the side to walk, but was too drunk to realize it.
I’m not sure why they work in such unsafe condition. There’s hardly any warning that there are workers working on the highway where hundreds of vehicles are speeding at more than 100 KMPH. They just sweep the road quite oblivious to the high speed traffic around them! Indian highway authorities should do something about this.
