I cringed when I saw this two wheeler (all riders without a helmet) cross the road dangerously (at 0:07). The mother then proceeds to make the child stand on the bike over the bumpy crowded road. The father is not the steadiest of riders! I hope they survived.
This part of Vellore is always crazy as traffic goes both ways on one side as noone seems to know what the rules are and what the authorities will allow. Is he a bad driver or just let down by the system?
Look at this short clip and you can realise how most traffic jams are created at intersections. Absence of traffic signals or controls, I need to be ahead philosophy, no right of way concept and much more!
This kind of behaviour even in modest city speeds scare me. The 4 youngsters on a bike swing on to the wrong side of the road to cross the road. Their eyes are glazed and they are carrying an open bottle of alcohol. I hope they made it home!
Buses are notorious for forcing vehicles off the road as they overtake without a care in the world in India. This bus forces 2 vehicles off the road as it overtakes without a care in the world
You’d think that slow speed on rough roads would make it easy to stop if the truck in front of you slowed. This car was tailgating the truck at speeds of about 30-40 KMPH and almost failed to brake on time when the truck abruptly slowed at a bump. You can see the puff of smoke as his wheels lock and the tire skids. I kept a very safe distance and barely needed to slow down for this.
Always watch out for pedestrians trying to quickly cross the road. They may not warn you, but if there is an accident, its usually the pedestrian who get injured more and the car driver who will get blamed – be prepared and cautious
Two bumps on the road. A ‘jeep’ bumps into a 2-wheeler who falls down and a two wheeler bumps into a car and falls down. These are so common that we accept them as normal here
A Ford Mustang spotted in Vellore. Blink and you’ll miss it!
