Over a year ago I published this post Cmoneyspinner on Over-Blog.
A lot can happen in 12 months. Recently my Tumblr account was terminated. It was a little frustrating but I got over it! It’s not like it’s the first blog of mine that got deleted. Once my Tumblelogs were no longer in existence, all my energies that were being utilized at that microblogging platform were simply deployed elsewhere.
To be honest though, I kind of miss Tumblring. Have to say it was really easy to share links, photos, etc. and microblog, and occasionally socialize or spout off randomness. Not too mention some of the blogs were really cool! Awesome artists and photographers, foodies from vegan to loyal meat eaters sharing wonderful recipes and cooking tips, and more! My first blog had posts that dated back to 2012. This sort of emotional break-up pang started me for alternatives. My search for “Tumblr alternatives” produced content where the publishers all mentioned tools and resources that I had already tried or some platforms that did not appeal to me. But the recommendations, in my mind, were not really alternatives or reasonable substitutes or replacements. In short, was looking a platform that pretty much made sharing simple and easy. In other words … it’s just like Tumblr, only it’s not Tumblr!!
Found one! And it’s been right up under my nose all along. Over-Blog!!

It was kind of embarrassing. Searching, seeking, digging … looking everywhere for a satisfactory or suitable Tumblr alternative and I’ve had a blog at that site since April 2015. Major difference between the two? Tumblr is US-based. Over-Blog is based in Europe. Other than that, it’s an easy peasy sharing tool and pretty much has the same cool features. Having been at that site for so long, felt like the site owners deserved an apology and explanation from me. So I sent them a message via their Contact system. 🙂
Hi! Just want to say that I have been experimenting with your platform and even though I liked it I was not very active here. Recently my Tumblr account was terminated. Still blogging and working from home but have been searching for a “Tumblr alternative”. Read a few articles about the alternate platforms to use instead. Then the light bulb went off in my head! What about over-blog.com? I just realized that this platform is a terrific alternative. Too bad more people don’t know about it. Perhaps it’s because y’all are not based in the USA. I’ll try to spread the word here in America. Thanks for letting me use your platform. All the best! 🙂
