For Home Biz Entrepreneurs | Gleanings: November 2016

This year (2016), I subscribed to a blog called ShoutMeLoud in order to receive regular updates via eMail. Although I probably mentioned this blog in some of my previous posts, it is deserving of praise and worth another honorable mention.  It supplies so many tips and tricks, and it’s no surprise that the blog publisher, Harsh Agrawal, a professional-blogger from New Delhi, India, can boasts that SML has over 800K followers.  Archived posts go all the way back to 2008.  Give the guy credit for persistence and perseverance. His posts are categorized under 20+ topics. However, the 3 specific topics I suggest you glean advice from are:

Below are links to specific blog posts that are very helpful.

Write A High-Quality Blog Post With These 6 Tips

  • My skills are at the intermediate level when it comes to the first 5 tips, but TIP # 6??  Working on it!

How To Improve The Quality of Your Comments on Other Blogs

  • Totally agree with all of the advice expressed in this post.  To be honest, this site – BlogJob – and LiteracyBase – are two blogging communities where my readers and visitors leave what the article writer describes as “quality comments”.  I would rather someone else judge whether my responses and/or comments “add to” or “enhance” the discussion.  But I do my best to try to leave comments that are little bit more than:  Awesome post! OR Nice post! Keep it up!  (O.o)

10 Ways To Improve Your Blog in 2017

This year is almost over and if you did not accomplish what you set out to do … there’s always next year!  After reviewing this post, all I can say … Whew!  Got my work cut out for me for next year!  Although I think I can scratch Number 5 off my list.  That leaves only 9 tasks “To Do”.  (Sigh.)  Bring it on!  🙂

(The link below is my last share.  Wanted to end on a humorous note.)

8 Brain Exercises To Improve your IQ Score

  • Here’s the deal.  There are 8 exercises on the list and chances are you probably already do 2 or 3 of them regularly.  Bet you’re a lot smarter than you think you are!

there is also buddylist.com and seen.life which are two other social networks.

Are you a member of these networks? I know a lot of networks are being created because people are dissatisfied with their social media interactions at some of the major sites like Facebook, etc. Also have you written a blog post explaining these social networks and sharing your experience. If so, share the link. I’d lover to know more before committing. Thank you so much!

yeah, i joined them. Seen.Life looks exactly like Facebook, but quiet. Buddylist is also a social network, and they are mostly political and activists. Minds.com is still new for me, but it seems similar…

The social network that I’m active on right now is mylot/com. Although technically myLot calls itself a discussion forum instead of a social network. But to me, based on my activity at the site, there is no difference between saying it’s a social network versus calling it a discussion forum. There are two reasons I’m active there. Number 1 – Your discussions are similar to as if you’re updating a status on Facebook or sending out a tweet. Number 2 – The people are lively and very nice, plus you earn money for making friends and socializing. I have also been experimenting with Medium.com. I like it but I’m not very active there.

Thanks for your additional feedback about the social sites you mentioned.

Hi! Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. Did you mean minds.com? Because there is mind.com and minds.com. When I clicked your link I did not end up at a social network. I Googled it and found “minds” and it is a social network. Thanks for telling me about it. I’ll explore further. 🙂
