Weekly Recap: GTA 5 Glitch Videos Get Nuked And 4 More Stories
Weekly Recap

This week was mostly just about gaming. Thank goodness. Lots of news about games and trailers and teasers. There were a few bits of disruptive news stories, including Grand Theft Auto V videos on YouTube containing glitches getting nuked. Many of the videos featuring ways to make money and duplicating cars in the online portion of the game are being privatized or the channels are getting shut down. It’s kind of crazy.

Several YouTubers who have become huge making videos based on GTA V glitches have had to change up their tactics big time. On the lighter side of the spectrum gamers were able to get their first look at the reboot of Doom and #GamerGate and Rock, Paper, Shotgun go head-to-head. These stories and more in this May 23rd, 2015 edition of the Weekly Recap here at One Angry Gamer.

#GamerGate Strikes Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Reeling and peeling, Rock, Paper, Shotgun takes a blast to the face from the ethical emissaries fighting back against the big corrupt boss known as video game journalism. The latest tussle comes from a scuffle between gamers and RPS editor John Walker. On the more positive side of the fence, Voxelnauts’ Kickstarter has gone live and it’s a multi-verse version of Minecraft. It’s definitely something worth checking out if you’re into building entire worlds and traveling to them in a massive MMO universe.

Doom E3 2015 Teaser Trailer Takes Internet By Storm

Love it or hate it, Doom is one of those games that has really cemented its place in the history of gaming and Bethesda would be silly to let it sit there… idle. Well, they promised they would release more details on the game and that hasn’t happened yet but they did roll out an E3 2015 teaser trailer featuring a first look at the Revenant and the double-barrel shotgun. Hayssam Keilany also made it known that the iCEnhancer has not been released in any official capacity for GTA V. The mod is coming soon and he has his girlfriend working on the mod with him. The more the merrier.

Sega Dumps Good Mobile Games

Sega has pulled a number of good mobile games from the app stores. Their reasons for doing so? They cite that the games weren’t up to their standards. Some gamers have already assumed that this means that the games may make a return but laced with a whole bunch of microtransactions. On the opposite end of the mobile sector, one company is getting a little frisky and risky with a game called Drift Girls. This game sports all the risque material you would expect from a visual novel but with tuner car options, drifting and lots of high-end racing action. Babes, road beasts and great music. Could it get any better? Well… beer would make it better, but I digress.

Blade & Soul Coming To North America, Europe

It only took forever but NCSoft is finally porting over Blade & Soul to the west for North Americans and Europeans. The game has been a fairly big success in Korea for its non-targeting gameplay and exquisite graphics. And in more news about that hashtag that rustles the Jimmies of SJWs, a righteous musical artist from the mean streets of Detroit has recently released a new album featuring some of the voices and inspirational sounds from the folks that contribute to the continued existence of the GamerGate hashtag. The name of the album? The Legendary Closed Fist Technique.

YouTube Accounts Get Nuked For GTA V Glitch Videos

If you’re an avid poster of glitch videos for GTA V, it looks like you’re going to be looking for a new way to trap views on your channel because Rockstar is having none of it. While the company offered no comment on the situation, it appears as if YouTubers are having their accounts shutdown if they don’t privatize or remove glitch videos, showing how users can make unlimited amounts of money or duplicate cars. YouTubers have begun using a new method to spread information about glitches for GTA V, including using real-life toys to teach gamers how to make extra money and glitch in the game.
