Tekken 7 has not only been officially announced, but it also received the very first teaser trailer. It doesn’t show anything because it’s a teaser trailer, but it does seem to hint at the finale for the story involving the Mishima family.
Earlier today it was leaked that Tekken 7 would be announced during this year’s Evo Championship Series tournament following Capcom’s Marvel vs Capcom 3 finals. The game has practically no details made available for it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get excited for it.
I’m not going to bait you anymore with words. Let’s get right to the meat and potatoes with a knife and fork. Devour the goodness below, courtesy of GamesHQMedia.
Pretty snazzy, eh? Actually, I have no idea what’s really going on in the trailer. So vague. Also, that CG movie to supposedly help explain the series, post-Tekken 6, didn’t help at all. That’s not to mention that the movie was pretty terrible.
Anyway, we won’t know anything about the game – regarding the details – until July 25th at the comic con.
What we do know is that Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada is working on three projects, one of which is Tekken 7. It might be safe to assume that one of the other projects is Tekken x Street Fighter, the long-awaited crossover between the two massive franchises, designed and developed by Bandai Namco’s in-house studio. The third project? No idea. No clue. Nothing. Nada. I don’t mind being surprised, though.
Come July 25th I’ll definitely keep you posted on the details regarding Tekken 7 for the eighth-gen consoles, which is also running on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. And oh boy do I hope a Steam version is in the works.
