Far Cry 4 Split-Screen For PS4, Xbox One? Ubisoft Responds

Curious about whether or not the open-world jungle-shooter with ride-worthy elephants and an Indo-Asian theme percolating throughout the story will have split-screen on the PS4 or Xbox One? Well, put on your disappointment hats because you’re about to be disappointed.

PlayStation LifeStyle managed to get some exclusive time with the upcoming shooter from Ubisoft and in doing so, they also took that opportunity to sneak in a few questions about the game’s multiplayer features.

Speaking briefly with technical director Cedric Decelle about the game’s multiplayer, PlayStation LifeStyle asked if the game would have split-screen for the campaign mode, and Decelle decidedly stated that game will have… “online co-op only”.

Ouch.

I guess there’s no reason to clean off those stains on your sofa from that one night you binged on Taco Bell burritos and mistakenly gulped down Pepto Bismol instead of cotton-candy flavored cola.

On the bright side, at least Cedric was a little bit more open about competitive multiplayer modes. When PlayStation LifeStyle asked about whether or not Far Cry 4 for the PS4, Xbox One or PC would sport competitive multiplayer, the technical director slyly stated… “This is a secret for now.”

Ohhhh, can’t wait to find out what other goodies are in store for when the game launches this fall. You can learn more about Fary Cry 4, which is due for release on November 18th, 2014 of this year, by visiting the official website.
